This is THE Most Extensive Bird Photo Gallery - 905+ (865+ excluding Hawai'i) Bird species (by one photographer)
on the Internet - photographed in North America north of the Mexican border.
There is no other, although a couple state these words, because they don't have
species images FROM North America but taken in other countries.
PLUS - over 2.200 species of Birds, Mammals, and other species from North America and the Bahamas
Eastern Asia (China, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong). Central America (Costa Rica), and South America (Ecuador)

Enjoy the beauty of many North America's and eastern Asian birds and mammals!
Including a number of the rarest North American birds from places like:
Attu Island, Alaska, Gambell, St. Lawrence Island, Alaska, St. Paul Island, Pribilofs, Alaska, Texas,
SE Arizona, Florida, Bahamas, and my home state of California.

All species web pages are in the format (all lower case - very important!!):

IMPORTANT UPDATE NOTICE ABOUT OUR WEBSITE:

"GALLERY IMAGES" HAVE NOT BEEN UPDATED FOR OVER SIX YEARS

PLEASE GO TO IMAGE SPECIES PAGE LINK (by Species)

IMAGE SPECIES (Link)

I am Not adding any new images to the specific group galleries  (i.e. Hummingbirds, Owls, Shorebirds, etc.)
until I complete getting ALL the individual SPECIES web pages completed.
SO, all GALLERY Pages are very old now (some over 6 years)

For INDIVIDUAL SPECIES PAGES:
http://www.tsuru-bird.net/a_species/robin_american
(use this format)
Examples:
http://www.tsuru-bird.net/a_species/sparrow_american_tree
http://www.tsuru-bird.net/a_species/wood-rail_rufous-necked
http://www.tsuru-bird.net/a_species/warbler_black-throated_blue
(REMEMBER -all lower case-)

I am finally almost done (adding a few that need to be scanned from slides)
after completing everything "A" thru "Y" (Yellowthroat) species into their individual
SPECIES web pages.

Use the "IMAGE LIST" link to search the species you want to view.

Because of this the "GALLERIES" web pages are becoming more and more out of date.

NOTE:  Many websites show those beautiful and "pretty" pictures, which are obviously wonderful.
However, I've attempted to place as many images here which give more of a 'learning' experience
by showing species as they are MOST often seen.  Nearly always you see birds which are not in
full breeding plumage or in perfect lighting.  Do you ALWAYS see them in breeding plumage
with the sun behind you, sitting sideways, perfectly still, rotating slowly?  No!
So when you see a bird with it's head turned away, or not in perfect spring breeding plumage,
or a perfect look, what do you do?  If you see a fall molting warbler what do you do?
When you see a hatch year bird that doesn't look like its adult what do you do?
or the female of most species?  PRETTY pictures do nothing to help one
learn bird identification much - thus this website to help others,
not just post a bunch of pretty "look at my picture" photos.
You can go to FLICKR and the like if all you want is to look at
pretty pictures, if you want to learn, you go elsewhere.
